Credentials - Transportation
Driver Qualification - Valley City provides comprehensive driver qualification training for our CDL drivers. This program includes review and training in the proper operation of commercial motor vehicles and equipment, usage of respirators and personal protective equipment, emergency response procedures, bonding and grounding, and applicable federal and state regulatory requirements. Training meets or exceeds all DOT, EPA, OSHA and state training requirements. Our drivers have CDL hazmat and tanker endorsements.
Drivers receive classroom, on-the-job training, road tests and quarterly performance evaluation under the direct supervision of our Transportation Manager. Our training includes safety and regulatory review including:
- HM 126F Hazardous Materials Awareness & Safety
- HM 181 Hazardous Waste Shipping Papers
- HM 232 Hazardous Materials Security
All drivers carry a permit book containing proof of insurance, copies of all required permits and Valley City’s Transportation Emergency Response Plan providing the framework for reporting spills, arranging for cleanup, obtaining technical assistance, and filing reports as required by the appropriate federal and state regulatory agencies.
All new drivers and field services applicants are subject to a criminal background check. Current employee background checks are performed when warranted. All drivers and safety sensitive positions are subject to controlled substance and alcohol testing.

Due to the safety sensitive and specialized nature of technical services work our field services personnel have extensive training in equipment operation, personnel protective equipment, and health and safety procedure requirements to ensure the heath and safety of employees, customers, contractors, general public and the environment. Training includes:
